A fantastic way to continue the process with girls who have completed a Dignity Day is to run a 12-week Cherish Dignity program.
What is a Cherish Dignity program?
This program is designed for a small group setting with two facilitators, and preferably no more than 12 girls. In these weekly groups, we gather to discuss topics of identity, belonging, purpose, relationships, sexuality, choices, leadership, human trafficking, relationships, and HIV/STIs. These are burning topics for young girls and they are hungry for mature, wise counsel. The Cherish Dignity Program is for all girls, no matter what social, cultural or religious background they come from. The program is based on godly principles. Even though we desire to impart godly knowledge and wisdom, we also want to create a safe place where the girls feel free to talk about real issues they are facing in their lives, without judgment. How can you run a Cherish Dignity program? The course is designed to be simple and low maintenance. All you need is a safe and private location, a facilitator, and willing participants. You will meet once a week for 12 weeks to discuss different topics. The Dignity Campaign can provide the basic training needed to give you the confidence to run this type of groups. |
What is the cost?
The Dignity Campaign has designed a Cherish Dignity journal and a Facilitators Manual. The cost of the participant journal is R20, and the Facilitator Manual is R50. You can order the materials by sending an email to info@dignity.org.za |
