Dream and Dare Day at Constantia Primary School

We had the absolute joy of teaming up with Live 2:6 to host a vibrant and impactful Dream and Dare Day at Constantia Primary School. With one Grade 7 classroom of boys and another of girls, the day was full of energy, excitement, and powerful moments of discovery.

From the outset, the students were eager to learn more about who they are — diving into topics around identity, belonging, and purpose. One girl shared how much she loved the belonging session, especially the creative activity of making dolls. “It was a chance to show my creativity,” she said.

In the boys' classroom, the session on purpose struck a deep chord. One student reflected, “It is possible to reach for goals no matter your beginning — you can end your story on a happy ending.” His words reminded us why we do what we do.

The girls went on to explore boundaries, puberty, and menstruation. These sessions sparked open, honest, and often eye-opening conversations. One girl commented, “I liked how they answered all our questions and were honest.” Many of the girls expressed that they learned more during these sessions than they ever had in a formal school setting. The introduction to the menstrual cup also brought a wave of curiosity and thoughtful questions, as it was the first time most had seen or heard about it.

Meanwhile, the boys tackled key topics such as manhood, sex, and relationships. One student shared, “I liked the topic on manhood because I learnt how to become a man,” while another added, “I learnt how to have integrity and be a real man.” During the session on dating, one boy appreciated the straightforward guidance: “They told us what it is and what the point of dating is.”

The day ended with the Dare Declaration. The boys stood up in front of the girls to make a public commitment — to choose respect, integrity, and real manhood.

We walked away from the day deeply encouraged and inspired. The students were open, engaged, and ready to grow. We loved being with them and are hopeful to return soon with our 12-week discipleship program, continuing this journey of restoring dignity to teens.
