This July, we hosted our third Online Facilitator Training of 2025, drawing in 26 passionate individuals from across South Africa, Zambia, and Kenya. The virtual sessions, held on the 3rd and 10th of July, brought together men and women who are committed to transforming the lives of young people through intentional discipleship and mentoring.
Led by our dedicated facilitators - Crystal, Ashley, and Angelo - the training equipped participants with essential tools and strategies to walk alongside teens in their journey of self-discovery, purpose, and faith.
What Made This Training Unique?
Participants were deeply engaged throughout the sessions and responded positively to the flexible online format, which allowed them to learn at their own pace while juggling other responsibilities. But beyond convenience, the training touched hearts.
Many attendees shared how their own sense of identity, self-worth, and purpose was strengthened. The themes of belonging and identity in Christ resonated deeply, sparking personal growth and a renewed passion to serve as role models in their communities.
A Ripple Effect of Impact
The ripple effect of the training is already visible. Several participants have gone on to implement what they learned through Dream Days and discipleship programs in their local contexts. One powerful testimony from the Marlene Frankfort Foundation illustrates this impact:
“We have successfully run Dream Days and discipleship programs at our organisation. I have seen the positive impact our previous discipleship program has had on our girls—they are beaming with confidence. I look forward to seeing the impact we make with the current girls in our program. The platform has allowed us to make a significant difference in the lives of our mentees, as well as in my own personal life.”
Another participant added:
“The training has been transformative—it has deepened my understanding of how to nurture young girls. I’ve gained valuable insights and confidence to support girls in their journey.”
“It helped me to find more practical ways of presenting important topics to young people.”
Despite some connectivity challenges, the training was a resounding success. We’re incredibly proud of each participant and excited to see how they continue to influence their communities as facilitators, mentors, and agents of change for Christ.
As we move forward, we remain committed to equipping more leaders across the continent with the knowledge, skills, and faith to impact the next generation.
