We hosted our biggest facilitator training to date at our offices in the Western Cape, welcoming 40 passionate individuals eager to make a difference. This milestone event was a powerful and transformative experience, equipping facilitators with the necessary skills to engage with vulnerable youth in a meaningful way.
A Hands-On Learning Experience
The training was designed to be interactive, fun, and deeply informative. Participants had the opportunity to gain confidence in their ability to create safe and engaging spaces for young people. One attendee shared, "The training significantly enhanced my skills and confidence, allowing me to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting."
The in-person format proved invaluable, as it placed facilitators in a simulated classroom environment, allowing them to experience firsthand the impact of the program. Another participant noted, "It was incredibly easy to follow, and being in person put us right in the shoes of the kids, making the training even more impactful."
Fostering Connection and Growth
A core focus of the training was on how to create spaces where young boys and girls feel safe enough to be vulnerable. One facilitator highlighted, "I was taught how to best engage with the boys and create an environment where they feel comfortable opening up." The experience was not just about technical skills—it was also about personal growth. Another participant reflected, "It made me realize that I am capable of doing whatever I set my mind to. I am strong, brave, beautiful, valued, and special."
Sharing More Than Knowledge
Beyond learning, the training was also about building community. Over a shared lunch, facilitators had the chance to connect, reflect, and exchange insights, further strengthening the bonds that will support them in their journey ahead.
