Empowering Communities: Western Cape Facilitator Training

March 2026 marked a significant milestone as The Dignity Campaign launched its first training engagement of the new financial year, bringing together passionate advocates for youth development.

The Church of the Holy Spirit in Kirstenhof buzzed with energy and purpose as 27 dedicated individuals gathered for our Western Cape Facilitator Training.

What made this training particularly special was the rich diversity of participants who came together with a shared mission. Representatives from 7 different organisations across the Western Cape created a vibrant learning environment that celebrated differences in gender, ethnicity, and age while fostering unity in purpose.

This diverse representation proved to be one of the training's greatest strengths, enabling meaningful discussions, shared experiences, and collaborative engagement that enriched the learning experience for everyone involved.

Equipping Champions for Change

The core objective was clear: to equip men and women with the tools necessary to impact teenagers' lives through The Dignity Campaign programs. Throughout the intensive sessions, participants demonstrated remarkable engagement with the material, showing a deep understanding of The Dignity Campaign pathway.

The training focused on three key areas:

  • Practical tools for effective program delivery

  • Biblical foundations that underpin the campaign's approach

  • Building confidence to facilitate programs within their respective organisations

Voices from the Training Floor

The true measure of success came through the authentic feedback from participants themselves:

From the Dream Sessions:

"It is practical and simple enough for teenagers to understand. I like how it's condensed."

"I've enjoyed it. Lot of helpful insights. Personal stories and experiences really helped see some things the way teenage girls would."

From the Dare Sessions:

"It was good, it made me learn some things I never knew and understood other's circumstances."

"It provided a new concise way of presenting these important topics."

Looking Ahead: A Foundation for Impact

This training has laid a solid foundation for the year ahead and significantly strengthened partnerships within the province. The commitment and enthusiasm demonstrated by all participants serves as a powerful reminder of why this work matters.

As these newly equipped facilitators return to their communities and organisations, we anticipate seeing ripple effects that will touch countless young lives across the Western Cape.

The success of the Western Cape Facilitator Training reinforces our belief in the power of community-driven change. With zero challenges encountered and overwhelming positive feedback, this event sets a high standard for future training engagements.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Church of the Holy Spirit in Kirstenhof for hosting us, and to every participant who brought their passion, experience, and dedication to this important work.
