Lives Changed in Zambia

It's been incredible to see how the facilitator training we hosted in Ndola, Zambia, in March continues to make a lasting impact in the lives of both teenagers and the adults who walk alongside them. As local teachers, youth leaders, and facilitators put their training into practice, they are creating safe spaces where young people can grow in confidence, discover their identity, and make healthy life choices. These stories from our partner, Beyond Ourselves, are a powerful reminder that when leaders are equipped, the impact extends far beyond the training room and into schools, families, and communities.

A Teacher Equipped to Make a Greater Difference

A guidance and counselling teacher at St. Andrews Secondary School, first encountered The Dignity Campaign through Beyond Ourselves. Since then, the program has transformed both her professional practice and her personal journey.

The puberty and menstrual health training provided her with practical tools and a structured curriculum that strengthened the school's counselling department. Participating in the 2026 Facilitator Training also deepened her understanding of teenage behaviour and the challenges young people face today.

One session, Processing Your Story, had a particularly profound impact.

Rather than viewing difficult moments in her life as weaknesses, she learnt to see them as experiences that could help her encourage and mentor others. This shift has enabled her to support students with greater empathy, confidence, and understanding.

Finding Hope After Loss

For one 15-year-old boy, Dare Day came at a significant time in his life.

After losing his father two years ago, he struggled with fear and uncertainty about his future. During the program, he was challenged to think carefully about the friendships he chose and the influence of peer pressure.

Most importantly, he discovered the hope found in God's love.

Today, he says he has renewed confidence that, with God's guidance, he can overcome fear, make wise decisions, and build a positive future. The program strengthened both his faith and his outlook on life.

Confidence to Speak Without Shame

For a 12-year-old girl, the Dream Day training on puberty and menstrual health brought freedom from embarrassment.

As the only girl at home while her mother lives abroad, she found it difficult to ask her father for menstrual products. Instead, she quietly used her school pocket money to buy what she needed.

The Dream day changed that.

By learning about puberty and menstrual health in a safe, supportive environment, she gained the confidence to speak openly with her father about her needs. She now feels comfortable picking menstrual pads from the shop shelves and placing them in the shopping basket without shame.

What was once a source of anxiety has become an opportunity for honest conversation and support.

These stories demonstrate that The Dignity Campaign is about much more than delivering information. It is about restoring dignity, building confidence, strengthening families, equipping educators, and helping teenagers discover hope and purpose.
