The Dignity Campaign recently had the privilege of conducting a powerful 5-day Facilitator Training in Ndola, Zambia, in partnership with Beyond Ourselves and with support from Jubilee Centre.

This marked our second visit to the region in just two years, a meaningful sign of both the growing demand for the programme and the deep commitment of local leaders to bring lasting transformation to their communities.

Over the course of the week, 63 participants from a variety of churches and organisations came together with one shared purpose: to learn how to restore dignity, inspire hope, and empower young people to live with purpose and truth.

The diversity in the room created a rich and welcoming learning environment. Participants openly shared experiences, challenged ideas together, and built connections rooted in unity and mutual encouragement.

Equipping Leaders for Real Impact

Throughout the training, participants were introduced to practical tools and foundational principles that will help them facilitate the Dignity Campaign’s Dream and Dare programmes effectively within their own communities.

Together, they explored how to:

  • Facilitate engaging and impactful Dream and Dare days

  • Support teenagers as they navigate identity, belonging, and purpose

  • Challenge harmful cultural beliefs with truth and compassion

  • Encourage transformation through intentional action and understanding

The sessions were highly interactive, giving participants the opportunity to practice facilitation skills, engage in meaningful discussions, and reflect personally on the changes they hope to see in themselves and their communities.

Dream and Dare Day in Action

One of the highlights of the week was the implementation of a 1-day Dream and Dare event with 63 school learners.

This gave participants the opportunity to step into a real-life facilitation environment and apply what they had learned throughout the training. They observed the full flow of the programme in action, from engaging activities and discussions to creating safe spaces where teenagers felt seen, heard, and encouraged.

For many participants, this practical experience was invaluable. It helped build confidence and provided hands-on insight into how to meaningfully connect with young people.

Powerful Outcomes and Encouraging Growth

The impact of the training was evident in many ways throughout the week.

Cultural Mindsets Challenged

Participants engaged deeply with cultural norms and long-held beliefs, leading to honest conversations, reflection, and noticeable shifts in perspective.

Transformation Witnessed

Through testimonies, discussions, and feedback surveys, many participants shared how the training had personally impacted them. There was a renewed understanding of dignity, identity, and purpose.

Excitement for the Future

A strong sense of enthusiasm filled the room as participants began envisioning how they would implement the programme in their own churches, schools, and communities.

Gratitude for the Knowledge Shared

Many expressed sincere appreciation for the practical tools and life-giving insights gained during the week.

A Desire for Greater Accessibility

Several participants also highlighted the importance of translating the training materials into local languages to make the content even more accessible and impactful for teenagers in their communities.

Looking Ahead

The Ndola Facilitator Training was a significant milestone in strengthening local capacity to carry forward the message of dignity and transformation.

Returning to the region for a second time has not only deepened relationships but also reinforced the growing impact of the campaign in Zambia. There is clear momentum moving forward, with trained facilitators now equipped and motivated to create positive change where they live and serve.

There is also growing excitement around the possibility of launching a 12-month mentorship programme in the coming year. This initiative would provide ongoing support, accountability, and development for facilitators as they continue their journey of impacting young people and communities.

Voices from the Training

The heart of the training is perhaps best captured through the words of the participants themselves:

“I just want to say that this has been a life transforming training, and you are making a very big difference.”
“I no longer walk in man given identity but I'm now walking and understand my God given identity. I'm walking confidently and it has impacted my relationships with my soon to be husband and we will now walk in partnership.”
“It was a well planned and taught campaign. It exceeded much of my expectations even on a personal level. Thank you for bringing dignity to boys and girls through your trainings.”
