Running an Awareness Workshop at Bay Church: God's Design for Sex

This past week, we had the incredible opportunity to host an awareness workshop at Bay Church focused on God’s design for sex. In a culture that often distorts the meaning and purpose of sex, we wanted to create a space where teens could engage in open, honest, and biblical conversations about this important topic.

We were encouraged to see around 30 teens choose to attend the workshop, demonstrating their willingness to learn and engage in meaningful discussions. It was a privilege to walk alongside them as we explored God’s intention for sex, why He created it, and how His design leads to true fulfillment and flourishing.

The conversations were lively, filled with curiosity, and at times, even challenging—but that’s exactly why this dialogue is so necessary. Many young people rarely hear about sex in the context of God’s plan, and our goal was to provide a space where they could ask questions, wrestle with tough topics, and ultimately see that God’s design is good, intentional, and life-giving.

As we wrapped up the session, it was clear that these conversations were just the beginning. Many students expressed a desire to keep learning and discussing how to navigate relationships and sexuality in a way that honors God. This reaffirmed the need for continued discipleship and mentorship in this area.

We left the workshop feeling incredibly grateful for the chance to speak truth into young lives and to remind them that God cares about every aspect of their being—including their sexuality. Our prayer is that seeds were planted, hearts were opened, and that each teen left with a deeper understanding of God’s love and purpose for them.

If you are a parent, mentor, or leader in the church, we encourage you to engage in these conversations with the young people in your life. They are listening, they have questions, and they need guidance rooted in truth. Let’s continue pointing them to the beauty of God’s design for every area of their lives, including their sexuality.
