Dare Day with Cornerstone Word Ministries

Recently, our partners, Cornerstone Word Ministries, had the privilege of hosting a Dare Day as part of The Dignity Campaign's ongoing mentorship program, and it proved to be an eye-opening experience for many of the boys who attended.

The day created a safe environment where boys could be vulnerable, ask honest questions, and engage in meaningful conversations without fear of judgment. While many arrived feeling shy and hesitant to participate, it wasn't long before they began opening up, sharing their experiences, and encouraging one another.
Many of the boys come from challenging circumstances. Some are being raised by single parents or grandparents, while others are growing up without consistent, positive male role models. These realities often leave young men navigating life without the guidance and encouragement they need during such formative years.
Throughout Dare Day, the Cornerstone Word Ministries team challenged the boys to think differently about their identity, their choices, and the kind of men they want to become. They were encouraged to recognise their value, understand that their circumstances do not define their future, and discover that they have the ability to make positive decisions that will shape their lives.
At the end of the day, each boy was invited to accept the challenge to Dare to Be Different. As a symbol of this commitment, they received a wristband to remind them of what they had learned and the promise they had made to themselves, to choose courage over conformity and purpose over pressure.
But Dare Day is not the finish line, it's the beginning.
It marks the start of an ongoing mentorship journey where these boys will continue to be encouraged, supported, and equipped through meaningful relationships with mentors who will walk alongside them over the coming months.
In a world where many boys are left to figure life out on their own, Dare Day offers something invaluable: a place to ask questions, the freedom to grow, and a community that believes in them without judgment.
The boys arrived with open hearts and open minds, and they left with a challenge that has the potential to shape their future: Dare to Be Different.
As The Dignity Campaign and our partners, Cornerstone Word Ministries, continue walking alongside these young men, we look forward to seeing them grow into confident, resilient, and purpose-driven leaders who understand their worth and the incredible potential they carry.
