On Saturday, 13 June 2026, The Dignity Campaign had the privilege of hosting a seminar in East London, bringing together leaders and individuals passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.

Presented in an interactive workshop format, the seminar created space for learning, discussion, and personal reflection. Eighteen participants attended, most of whom had completed the facilitator training the previous day, allowing them to deepen their understanding of key issues affecting today's youth.

Addressing the Challenges Facing Young People

The seminar explored three important topics:

  • The Development of the Teenage Brain

  • God's Design for Sex

  • Fatherlessness

Each session provided participants with practical, research-informed insights while remaining firmly grounded in biblical truth. The workshop style encouraged meaningful conversations and gave participants the opportunity to engage openly with the content and one another.

Learning That Leads to Transformation

One of the most impactful sessions focused on fatherlessness. As the discussion unfolded, several participants courageously shared their own experiences, creating moments of healing, encouragement, and personal breakthrough. These honest conversations highlighted the profound and lasting impact that fatherlessness can have, while also pointing to hope, restoration, and God's healing.

The sessions also equipped participants to better understand the developmental changes teenagers experience. Many shared that they now feel more confident in building trusting relationships with young people, communicating more effectively, and responding to teenage behaviour with greater wisdom, empathy, and understanding.

Equipping for Ministry, Parenting, and Personal Growth

The feedback reflected the significant personal and ministry impact of the seminar. Participants described the training as empowering, eye-opening, and transformational.

Beyond increasing knowledge, the workshops provided practical tools that could be applied in youth ministry, parenting, mentoring, and everyday relationships.

Attendees appreciated that complex and often sensitive topics were presented in a balanced, practical, and accessible way, making them easier to understand without feeling overwhelming.

Voices from the Workshop

One participant shared:

"It was such a blessing that can help in the ministry and as a parent with young kids. It also made me understand the stuff I faced when I was a teenager and how the things we go through impact our lives."

Another reflected:

"All three sessions were a blessing to me. They gave insight into the teenage brain and helped me understand teens better. Fatherlessness touched me because it's something I have been directly impacted by, and sharing God's design for sex is important because it instils good values and morals."

Looking Ahead

The East London seminar reminded us that when leaders are equipped with understanding, compassion, and practical tools, they are better positioned to guide the next generation with wisdom and hope.

We are grateful to every participant who invested their time, engaged wholeheartedly, and shared their personal journeys. We trust that the seeds planted during these workshops will continue to bear fruit, in families, churches, schools, and communities, as participants put what they have learned into practice.

Together, we remain committed to restoring dignity, strengthening families, and equipping those who influence the lives of teenagers.
