Update from the Dominican Republic: A Season of Growth

Here is an update from Joanne from Seeds of Dignity, our partners in the DR!

These past few weeks have been such a beautiful reminder of how God multiplies even our small steps when we walk in faith. Our Dignity Resources continue to open doors, and I am so grateful that we’ve been able to connect not just with one, but with five different communities and churches at the same time.

The first group we partnered with has been especially inspiring. Led by Eliza, a woman full of passion and commitment, this community is faithfully following the discipleship program with 16 girls. Every time I check in with them, I see her steady leadership shining through, and it fills me with hope.

Then, just two weeks ago, we celebrated another milestone. A Girls Dream Day with 10 girls came to completion, and along with it, we welcomed 3 new facilitators into the journey. Aurora, the main leader there, didn’t waste any time, last week she already launched the discipleship program with 8 girls. Her dedication amazes me; she has a heart that just won’t quit.

The very next day, God opened another door. We gathered 17 women for a Dream Day, and out of that group, 10 stepped forward for facilitator training. We spent three afternoons together diving into what it means to lead, guide, and serve their own communities. Seeing their eagerness to rise as leaders gave me goosebumps, it was as if they had just been waiting for someone to believe in them.

And the story doesn’t stop there. This Saturday, another Girls Dream Day begins, this time in a new community. What excites me most is that 4 brand-new facilitators will be stepping into their roles for the very first time. A week later, yet another Girls Dream Day will launch in a different community from this same pack. Our hope is to continue moving into the remaining three communities during September and the beginning of October.

It feels like we are standing in the middle of a movement, one that is growing, multiplying, and reaching further than we could have ever imagined. None of this would be possible without your prayers. We feel them. We need them. And we are so thankful for you walking with us.
